St. Augustine Greek Festival 2018

The 21st Annual Greek Festival will take place from Friday to Sunday, October 12 – 14, 2018, at Francis Field in St. Augustine’s historic district.

St. Augustine’s annual Greek Festival celebrates the cultural and historical importance of Greek influence in the nation’s oldest city. The festival recreates a Greek village and offers three days of traditional Greek dance, music, cuisine, and culture, giving visitors and residents alike a chance to enjoy a real taste of the islands, mountains and villages of Greece.

Hosted by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the 2018 Greek Festival will take place from Friday through Sunday, October 12 – 14, 2018.

Greek Entertainment

The nationally-known Ellada will perform live all weekend in the main tent, and the Nisiotes and Asteria Greek dancers demonstrate the rich culture of Greek dance. Visitors can learn the steps and participate.

This family-friendly event includes an outdoor marketplace and a Kids Center offering games, rides and activities. Vendor booths will be set up throughout the Festival, offering jewelry, arts and crafts and more. In addition, a selection of reading material on the Greek Orthodox faith, icons and other unique items will be available for purchase.
Greek Food and Drink

The Greek Festival offers an amazing array of Greek foods, pastries and beverages, including moussaka, dolmades, souvlaki, spanakopita and pastitsio. Many of the dishes are provided by parishioners of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Families looking for familiar food option for their children will find gyros, hot dogs, and snacks on the kids menu.

A village Kafenio will be set up where visitors can relax and sip a Greek coffee while trying out some favorite Greek pastries from the bakery. In the Taverna, Greek wine, cold beer and Greek lemonade will be available. Other not-to-be missed treats are saganaki (flaming cheese) and a variety of Greek desserts that include baklava with walnuts, spice, and honey syrup, egrolavos cookies with apricot filling and chocolate, and fruit kok cake topped with custard.

There will be several food specials in 2018. On Friday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., the Food Line tent will offer a free piece of baklava with the purchase of one full dinner platter. Two-for-one draft beer will be on tap at the Taverna from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. And on Sunday, the Grill will offer half-price gyros.

Admission: Adults $5 / Children 16 & Under Free. Active-duty US military and their immediate families with ID are also Free. Sorry, no pets allowed. Registered service dogs are permitted.
